This short film from the Ships Passing in the Night project captures some of what participating children and artist James Ó hAodha got up to on their the day trip to the Sikh temple – Guru Nanak Darbar – in Sandymount.
Also included is an interview with participating Sea Scout who describes how they made their version of the iconic image ‘Lunch atop a Skyscraper’.
As part of this project, visual artist James Ó hAodha and a group of children from the Dublin Sikh community and the Sandymount Dodder Cub Scouts have been working together on a range of inventive and fun art activities, using maritime communication as the starting point.
The premiere of the final video artwork will be screened at The Hugh Lane Gallery in late January for an audience of participating children, their siblings and parents.
